About Me

Hello and Welcome! My name is Candace Osei and I am pursuing a B.S. in Spanish Language and International Health from Clemson University. After graduation, I plan on finding work in the fields of Community Health Promotion or Global Health before ultimately obtaining my MPH in Global Health. From a young age, I knew I wanted to help people. As cliché as it sounds I knew I was destined to make a difference in this world. As preventative health is not as highlighted as medical healthcare, I spent most of my formative years thinking I wanted to be a doctor, and it was not until college that I was exposed to the immensely important and fascinating field of Global Health. Learning about the Social Determinants of Health and global trends in diseases alongside my Spanish classes gave me a new perspective on how I view the world and what I want to do with my life. As someone who loves experiencing new cultures and would like to be more worldly, in the future I hope to get the opportunity to travel to various countries that need assistance with things such as WASH, women’s and children's health, and more.

I am very passionate about Global Health because I see it as a necessary field that has the power to mitigate many of the global issues we are facing and want to work with others so that more individuals see it that way.

My strengths include open-mindedness, public speaking, and the ability to empathize which I think are great skills to have in Global Health professions, due to the fact that I will be working with a diverse group of people. On this page, you can find more information on my proficiencies, resume, coursework, etc. Reach out if you would like to connect!
